| Puerto Vallarta fishing report October 2020 The Dorado / Mahi Mahi have been biting inshore and offshore at the Puerto Vallarta fishing grounds. Offshore we have also been catching Blue and Black Marlin, Sailfish, and a few Yellowfin Tuna. One of the most common question I get is how long of a trip should I book to catch Marlin? Right now to catch Marlin in Puerto Vallarta you need a 10-14 hour fishing charter. The Marlin bite is offshore and normally is at least a 2 hr ride just to get to the fishing grounds. The 2nd most common question is what are you catching inside the bay on 4 and 6 hour fishing charters? Lately we have been catching Jack Crevalle, Spanish Mackeral, and Small Dorado.
