There are only three places on the globe which have world class
Black Marlin. Australia, Panama, Mexico. PV in October and November is second to none. I've
made it a annual  pilgrimage.Captain Steve Torres on "My Marlin" would be my first choice. He's
the best live bait "slow troll" Marlin fisherman I've ever met. I just got off a 3.5 day expedition. Fish
counts say it all. 1. Black Marlin, 1. Blue Marlin, 1. Pacific Sailfish, 1. Big Bull  Dorado, 1. Nice
Yellowfin tuna. 25 long eye jacks (at night). I can honestly say it was the best fishing adventure I've
ever had. I've chased those elusive Blacks for 20 years! Captain Torres and crew (top notch & fun)
made that dream come true. Yes there's bigger, more luxurious charter boats to pick from in PV. I
don't know about you but I'm there to fish, period. if you like to sit inside with air conditioning until a
fish is hooked? Then this isn't your kind of boat or crew. Remember a nice marlin will keep you in
the sun for at least a hour or two. It's better to become "one with the heat". You'll suffer less I have to
mention the food served on the 3.5 day trip. Typical day eating at sea: fresh sashimi, fresh ceviche,
pineapple, mangos, numerous veggies I could name, roasted chicken. The crew were excellent
cooks. We even went  nto Punta Mita to unload fish and go out to dinner to celebrate catching a
blue & black marlin all in one day. Steve  recommended the Blue Shrimp. The captain not only can
fish, he can pick great restaurants too. Would I recommend PV Sportfishing's Captain Steve of My
Marlin? Put it this way. As soon as I got within cell range I booked to fish the PV Tournament with
Captain Steve and crew next November.

We had another epic 2.5 Tuna fishing Charter April 2nd and 3rd 120 miles offshore Puerto
Vallarta. We caught 7 Yellowfin Tuna in total all in the 100-250 lb range. We left the Marina
Vallarta around 7pm on the 1st and Made it out past the 3rd island by about 5am on the 2nd. The
1st morning was slow all We caught was 1 striped Marlin until about 4pm When we finally had
our first Yellowfin Tuna bite of the day. About 5 minutes after we had the first tuna in the boat We
had a double hook up and all the sudden We had 3 in boat. All 3 of the Tuna took live bait off the
kite. After We took a couple of fish photos it was dark and we called it a day. There was alot of
squid around so we caught dozen in the night to try Our luck with live squid bait the next day. The
next morning was perfect conditions the water temps were between 79-81 degrees and crystal
clear but again We had a slow morning We had 2 kites going with live bait and We were also
drifting with a couple of rods with live squid well the squid did not do the trick this time but We
had 4 more Tuna hit the kite again all on live goggle eye bait. I got lucky and caught 1 Tuna on
film taking the bait off the kite also took some great under water video enjoy.
My son and I took an overnight from Nuevo Vallarta March 1st to the 2nd with Captain Steve,
Freddy, and Alex aboard. We left at 2 am and went to sleep
in the comfortable forward sleeping quarters. I awoke during the early am hours as nature called
and noted that we were pulling a Panga behind us. I
thought that we had stopped to help a disabled Panga and went back to sleep. We were
awakened by Captain Steve yelling get your a.... up were
hooked up on a nice tuna. We rushed out and no sooner than we were on deck another hook up
occurred. Now my son (33y/o) and I were both hooked
up on the biggest tuna of our lives and virtually giddy and unable to stop smiling.

We were out 70 miles or so and it was the fishing trip of our lives. Totals were 21 tuna and 4
dorado. Steve is a kite master and to see a tuna hit a Caballito is like a bomb exploding on the
surface of the sea. SPECTACULAR!!!!! After it was all said and done we had two around 180 lbs
and 12 in the 100 lb range, with the smallest about 45 lb. One dodo was around 35 lb and the rest
smaller. The crew was first class and Steve confirmed why he has won so many tournaments. This
guy is part fish! The crew was magnificent as well. We lost only one of every 5 hook ups which is
pretty good for this size tuna. We hooked several ourselves which is even better than a hand off or
kite hook up.

Back to the panga? Turns out Capt. Steve was so confident of a big trip that he pulled the panga
behind us specifically for the large ice capacity in the middle of the panga. There were 3 young
guys on the boat and they fished around us for the entire trip. The fish never even got close to warm
and were either on a stringer along side the boat or in the ice chest of the panga. Freddy the Filet
showed his mettle as well with his expertise at cleaning and
fileting these big boys for us. Ben and Benny Hourani
We went out on yet ANOTHER epic 2 days of fishing with captain Steve Torres  I can not say
enough about this guy’s crew and his knowledge. I love fishing with such passionate people. I have
got fish EVERY time I have been out with this guy! The Next fish I hooked into was a 250 pound
Yellow fin. Perfect way to start the day off with a COW. I also landed a 150#. And 80 and 40
pounder the same day. My 2 buddies with me got 1 35# Yellow fin, one 150lb yellow fin and 4 more
Yellowfin 50-110 pounds.
